FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
These answers describe how AIStockLearn operates as an educational publisher. They are not legal advice. If your question concerns a personal financial decision, consult a registrant in your province.
What is AIStockLearn?
AIStockLearn is an independent public-interest curriculum for adult stock market literacy, published by AIStockLearn Education Inc. in Kanata, Ontario. We provide reading lists, study guides and facilitated seminars designed to improve comprehension of public financial documents and general market concepts. We were founded in 2020 and operate from a small reading-room studio at 535 Legget Drive, Suite 200.
Are you registered with CIRO or the CSA?
No. We are not registered with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA), or any provincial securities regulator as a dealer, adviser, or investment fund manager. Our materials are for general education only. If you need personalised recommendations, seek a registrant who is authorised in your jurisdiction.
Do you recommend stocks, ETFs or other securities?
We do not. Module readings may reference historical public filings or widely discussed companies for teaching purposes, but assignments are chosen for didactic value — not as buy, sell or hold signals. Facilitators redirect portfolio-specific questions. Investing involves risk, including loss of principal.
Who should enrol?
Adults who want structured reading practice around financial documents. Typical participants include professionals curious about markets, retirees managing their own learning, library discussion groups and graduate students in non-finance fields. No prior finance degree is required for foundation modules; willingness to read carefully is essential.
How do fees work?
Each module lists a CAD fee range on the Programs page depending on format (self-paced packet, cohort seminar or institutional licence). Fees cover educational materials and facilitation. Payment instructions accompany your enrolment letter. We charge GST/HST where applicable. Refund policies are stated in our Terms of Use.
Can I study entirely online?
Yes. Self-paced packets include the same syllabi as in-person cohorts. Optional live seminars are offered by video for remote participants who want facilitated discussion. Physical binders ship within Canada; PDF packets are available worldwide unless export restrictions apply to specific third-party readings.
What happens in a seminar?
Seminars are text-centred discussions. Participants arrive having read assigned pages. Facilitators ask evidence-based questions, compare annotations and clarify vocabulary. Ground rules prohibit stock pitches and personalised advice. Sessions typically run two hours with a break; handouts cite page numbers for continuity with remote readers.
Do you offer credentials or designations?
Completion letters describe competencies acquired in our curriculum. They are not professional designations and do not authorise you to advise others for compensation. AIStockLearn is not a degree-granting institution. Some employers or associations may accept our workshops for internal learning credits at their discretion — we do not guarantee transferability.
How often are modules updated?
We publish errata when source documents, accounting standards or regulatory guidance change materially. Edition numbers appear on syllabi. Alumni on our mailing list receive notices. If you completed an older edition, you may purchase an update packet at a reduced fee within twenty-four months.
May libraries host your workshops?
Often, yes. We license reading lists and facilitator guides to non-commercial hosts who agree to our disclaimer language. Libraries must not advertise events as investment advice. Contact us with expected attendance and venue details for a scope letter and quote.
How do you handle personal data?
We collect only what is needed to enrol participants, respond to inquiries and comply with law. Our Privacy Policy describes retention, rights under PIPEDA and Quebec Law 25, and how to reach [email protected]. Contact form submissions require explicit consent.
